Event weekend info for 2013

Event guide
Here is the 2013 Oxfam Trailwalker Event Guide. This document contains critical event info teams need to be familiar with. It is essential that you give this document a good read over. Download it here.
Registration
All four team members plus two support crew must register together at The Great Lake Centre in Taupo. Registration is open from 3pm, Friday April 5, 2013.
For your own safety it is essential all team members and one of your support crew attend an event briefing held at The Great Lake Centre at any of the following times:
- Briefing 1: 4.30pm
- Briefing 2: 5.30pm
- Briefing 3: 7.00pm
- Briefing 4: 8.00pm
- Briefing 5: 9.00pm
Start times
There are two start times for Oxfam Trailwalker: 6:00am and 7:00am. Please check your allocated time. These start times are not changeable. Bib numbers are assigned by start time so we will know if any sneaky changes have taken place.
- View your teams start time (PDF, 0.3 MB, please don't print)
The teams that increased their fundraising target were able to choose their start times. The remaining teams were allocated.
Checkpoint closing times
Each checkpoint has a designated closing time. This is not the latest arrival time … it is the closing time. Both your team and support crew must depart the checkpoint before it closes. This is to help you plan your pace to ensure you can complete the course within 36 hours.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Officially daylight savings ends Sunday April 7 when clocks are moved back 1 hour (officially 3.00am becomes 2.00am overnight from Saturday to Sunday). All event times over the Oxfam Trailwalker weekend IGNORE the end of daylight savings until the finish of the event. These checkpoint closing times are not adjusted for the end of daylight savings.
